ultimately, they don't need electricity do they? they can be moved by heat, as Mr Ding Huan observed, or - better still - by wind. the image is the "engine", of course - it works best if it reveals something about the movement itself - when slowed down or speeded up (slow-motion, time-lapse) - or - if the subject itself is changing (metamorphosis, Transformers), the creative potential, therefore, is in the changeable form itself, but it would be great to have a zero energy "player". xClose |
