It is an insightful and humorous account of the 1970s &'80s, for anybody who has ever wondered what working for Queen or a major rock band of that era really entailed. The book is not a chronological history or definitive biography of the band, but my personal story of travelling the world and living the rock and roll lifestyle - to the full! Queen Unseen Book
Queen Unseen is an account of the many exciting years I spent on tour, in the recording studio, on video shoots and day to day life with one of the world's biggest and best ever rock bands. It is an insightful, enlightening and humorous account for anybody who has ever wondered what working for Queen, or a major rock band of that era really entailed. The book is not a chronological history or definitive biography of the band, but a personal story of spending my youth travelling the world and living the rock and roll lifestyle - to the full! My thanks and appreciation go to the many people who have supported and encouraged me in getting my memories published. The book, first published in 2011 by John Blake Publishing contains photo sections - the original hardback and paperback editions in colour, later editions in monochrome. The book is available on Amazon. And as an e Book. Queen
I was fortunate to spend many years in the 1970's and 1980's in the music business - most of those working for rock band Queen. I spent my life traveling the world with one of its biggest and best bands. An amazing journey, which I am grateful to have taken part in.
It's only Rock 'n' Roll - and I liked it. ![]() ![]() ![]() With Fred and Brian - USA 1977 ![]() My briefcase circa 1976 - 1977. Copyright: Peter Hince 2022

Miscellaneous
This section is in the process of being updated
I am certainly no authority on Queen records (though I do have a blue Bo Rhap from the limited edition of 200 - No 195 - courtesy of Fred) but items connected directly to touring, such as itineraries, jackets, T shirts, passes etc, I have a very good memory for. Avoiding fake Queen items; I would always suggest that you always ask for provenance from the seller. Who are they? How did they get it - and from who? If an item is from the 1970s or '80s it's realtively old, and should smell, look and feel old. If something is offered for sale with a COA (Certificate of authenticity) beware! Provenance is what is needed - not something that can be printed out randomly on a computer. If the item is rare and/or expensive then by all means ask for a letter from the seller listing provenance. EG: A fake NATO pass - no laminated passes were ever issued for this tour. ![]() Tambourine from 1975 UK NATO tour. I used some odd roll of red gaffa tape to secure the foam pad to protect Fred's leg. After that tour black gaffa was always used on Fred's stage tambourines. This is probably the only tambourine from that period in existence. ![]() Fred using the red-taped tambourine. 1975 ![]() © Peter Hince 2018
Ocean Images
Apart from my commercial photography I combine my love of scuba diving with creating photographic images. I wanted a simple approach and went for rangefinder Nikonos V cameras and 1600 ASA Fuji Neopan film with available light; which allowed me to dive, and enjoy the underwater world unencumbered by bulky housings, extension arms, strobes etc. Underwater reportage !
None of my images are digitally created or computer manipulated. These images are available to licence for commercial advertising, design and editorial purposes. I also have some T shirts and limited edition prints featuring some of these images.
