How much will I get paid if I participate in one of your photo sessions ?
The issue of money is an important one and, even if you don't care it's best to get this crystal clear before we start work.
Sure, it's good to be paid, i like to be paid and i like to pay people !
Unfortunately, the photography business is in steady decline, that has been the case for some years now.
I finance my work by selling image rights (stock photography), that works ok with hundreds of images, but, even so, the sales are declining...

I used to pay models an upfront fee, which basically came out of my pocket. However, the fact is that in most cases i am not recovering this expense. Logically, i am reluctant to continue doing it. I might, if you really need it, but ideally, you should be paid from money generated by future sales.
Ideally, we want to produce saleable pictures, put many of them online, and when they produce revenue you get paid for the subsequent sessions. With a bit of luck we would do a session every few months, with our revenues rising with the number of images online. I have a few models who enjoy this scenario.
Note, it might take long time (6-12 months) before the pictures produce any revenue, and, i have to say straight away, the amounts are generally small. When there is a larger sale you will be the first one to know. If we had no sales at all in a year it is unlikely that the images will produce much.

So, i hope you get the picture - there isn't much to get excited on the money front - better to concentrate on making the images we want !

As with most life activities, if you want the money you should try to go and get it - note that it is perfectly feasible to sell our images by your own efforts - contacting fashion labels, independent producers, promoteurs etc. I will help you with this, if you are willing to try, we share the profits 50-50.
