Photographers on Netcells can place image Folders on the server and give access to other Users or S:Users. If you are such an authorised person you will find your Folders in Organize > Folders in your User Zone.

By using Folders you are creating a valuable shared resource for the designated individuals ( typically this is you and the photographer, but perhaps also stylist, client etc ), which not only saves time but also makes sophisticated interactions and image management possible. First of all, you need to have a login, as a User or an S:User, if you do not, go ›here to get it. Log in to your User Zone on ›https://netcells.net/nuz Use your surname or your logname and your chosen password. There are 2 stages to working with your images: 1. SELECTING : go to Organize > Folders - click name of the Folder, then move through images and Select the ones you want to keep and work with 2. EDITING : go to Publish > Images - your edited images show as a list - click on an image to work with it When you Select an image that does not publish it (ie. make it publicly accessible on the Internet) unless the Publish box is ticked. You can enter Notes and other data at this stage - you can add to and overwrite that data at the Editing stage. When Editing ( Publish > Images ) the relevant image information shows on one line, in a list format. When you edit an image it will automatically move to the top of the list, but you can sort that list by clicking its headings (Filename, Ref, Date etc ). To convey instructions to photographer put them in Notes, you can also use Ref(erence) and other fields. If you need to send instructions by email just copy each line, like: 36/ JD2X_110404_6899.jpg : retouch :City :1 :7 : :non : :2011-04-13 : Published Do not send image numbers from the Select stage (1, 2, 45 etc), do not send images by email. You can publish each image on your Netcells Blog - example: www.netcells.net/publish/uzblog/421/images or any other site connected to our database, including your current or future web site. Note that each published image has its own unique web address - easy to share by email and social networks. You and all people given access to the Folder share Comments on any particular image. Also anyone can Comment on images published on your Netcells blog. Those comments show as a red number in the images list - click it to view comments. The Folder's owner can give you a link to download all images to your local computer in a zipped package. Remember you have detailed instruction on most User Zone pages under the green Info button top right. The Folders feature is relatively new. We will be refining and extending it over the coming months. |
