When you go over your disk quota, your site and email will cease to function - the server sends you an automated warning in anticipation of such an event - you better ask for more disk space or release some of the space used ! To delete old messages, you need to log in to your server's control panel (cPanel) and use either one of the 3 web mail programs supplied. Here is how to delete your Messages with RoundCube ( do not forget to LOG OUT when finished ): - first of all, check your disk space use - to do that click the Disk Space Usage icon - then click Mail directory to get the detailed breakdown - then go to EmailAccounts > log in to each account via More > AccessWebmail (if you forgot and re-set Password you will need to update your local mail program's setting) - some folders, such as your /.INBOX_Trash folder as created by your local email program, if you use one - to work with those folders in cPanel you have to Substribe to them in your web mail program's Folders section - click on RoundCube - you have 2 panels: Folders on the left and Messages on the right - select Inbox Folder - that shows your Messages - select the Messages you want deleted, use control key to Select multiple Messages, note that you can filter messages by the column heading (Subject, Sender, Date, Size) - that will group messages in that particular category and make them easier to multiple select (Control+click, Shift+click) - click the round 'NoParking' sign - that will move the selected Messages to Trash - double click Trash Folder - that will show the Messages to be deleted, check you have not made a mistake in selecting messages - at bottom left of page you have 'Select: All Unread Invert None', click 'All' to select all messages - at bottom left of page you have 'Folder: Compact Empty', click on 'Empty' to delete messages - reload your Disk Space Usage - /.Trash folder should show 0 MB - if it does not and you have no messages in Trash contact ›Help For instructions on accessing your site's control panel (cPanel) see ›FAQ 9 or Namecell.net/hosting/ (type your Domain name in the box). |
