we normally look after your domain name, there is nothing for you to do, as long as your owner details are up to date and you pay your yearly hosting bills.

you can change your domain name settings - such as renewal or expiry in your User Zone > Account > Domains. however, you can also access your domain via the registrar's site, most of our domains are registered via ›Joker.com - that is where the public records and the DNS settings are kept. we can set you or someone chosen by you as Admin contact on a domain name - that person will be able to change the owner information and settings - but not delete or transfer the name. if you want us to do that please set up an account on ›Joker.com and tell us the username (email) of the authorised person. the following functions are available: - Admin: modify domain (no transfer, no delete), modify nameservers - DNS Admin: modify nameservers, modify nameserver records - Billing: renew, receive renewal notices refer to ›Joker.com/faq/ for more information. changing nameservers will point your domain to another server - that, of course, should have a copy of your web site on it (you have your site backed up - haven't you?). changing nameservers will take several hours to implement (up to 24h worldwide). you get the names of the nameservers from the owner of the server you want to point your name to. if you want to move your domain name away from NetCells that is explained in ›FAQ#87 |
