Whatever Netcells Product you choose for your web site you get 2 separate sets of tools to manage it:
Xclose
1. cPanel - automatically updated commercial software for managing your site functionality (mail, statistics etc) - see ›FAQ9. 2. Netcells User Zone (NUZ) - our own set of tools, available exclusively to our Users and expandable to fit their needs, to manage your data (site content and other) - explained in ›FAQ40. Those programs are independent and passwords to access them are not necessarily the same. CPanel connects you to your mail server and other functions, log in to set up your email accounts (›FAQ274), remember to set strong passwords for each one to avoid problems, then check each one is working by sending an email to yourself. You can deal with all your mail in cPanel, you have a choice of 3 webmail programs - use and switch between them at any time. Subsequently, you can set up your local devices (computer, laptop, mobile phone etc) to pick up email from your mail server - see ›FAQ17. Once your web site is running the cPanel gives you very useful information about your site visits, errors etc. NUZ is for your data (text, images, links etc) - any data you add is immediately accessible on your site, blog and elsewhere, if you so choose. NUZ, essentially, gives you the means to build your own database. A site without a database is not very useful, and your data in a database which is outside your control (as in "social" networks) are even less useful - once you understood that you are way ahead of most people. |
