1.1 please do not try to do bulk mailings (also know as spamming) via our server, this will result in your legitimate mail being classified as spam or your IP (or your shared IP) being blacklisted - our server has functions to prevent such activity. use a specialised third part company if you must do bulk mailing. 1.2 if you have a cron job or any other automatic function for sending email on your site be aware it might result in your mail being classified as spam 1.3 when you make a first time contact via email you can check the email was delivered in cPanel > Mail > Track delivery, see ›FAQ259, although, that does not prove the message has been read - you need to do that by other channels, to be sure your message did not end up in the Spam folder. 2 all email is treated equally on the Internet, that is the principle of Net Neutrality. some big companies have been trying hard to subvert this. it might well be that a big company A applies algorithms to favour its own mail to a disadvantage of company B. do no subvert the principle of Net Neutrality by sticking with company A against company B. besides, it is most unlikely that all people you want to exchange emails with are with the company A (or B). 3 you can send email via any server that lets you - to do that alter the SMTP settings of your mail program. you can host web site on one server and the email on another. on 3rd party server your email can still appear to come from your domain but your data will no longer be in your possession, it is likely to be automatically read to send you advertising or used in various other ways. 4 major email service vendors use their own algorithms to mark mail as spam, based on its content, reputation, domain/IP blacklists. plus, email users have their own programs with their own settings (such as SpamAsssassin you have in your cPanel). some advice on avoiding your messages ending up in the Spam folder is offered in ›FAQ152. 5 once the reputation of your IP or domain name has been damaged restoring it is a slow and tedious process, you will need to contact companies and organizations who are actively blocking or blacklisting you and request de-listing. your mailing activity is constantly monitored on the Internet, if the volume of mail is low, with time, your reputation will improve. 6 the efficient business communications are via direct (text/chat) exchange, where all messages can be seen at a glance. you have such tool: Board in the User Zone, which is NC - User, we are now adding more (User - User) - those tools have the advantage of keeping all data on our server, but there are plenty others, from 3rd party providers |
