Unfortunately, anyone on the Internet can send email pretending to be you. To combat this problem use Email Authentification in your site's control panel (cPanel): 1. log in to your cPanel and go to Mail Authentification 2. make sure your Domain Keys (DKIM) and SPF are Enabled. To understand the other settings you probably have to do some more reading, you will find more information in the cPanel documentation: http://docs.cpanel.net/twiki/bin/view/AllDocumentation/CpanelDocs/EmailAuthentication By the way, it is easy to see where the email pretenting to be yours is actually coming from - look into the email's Headers. Some email programs show headers as a default, other do not give you this information at all. All 3 webmail programs that come with our hosting allow you to view header: in Roundcube you press the little downpointing arrow under Date, in Squirrel Mail you have the View Full Header, in Options, in Horde you have Headers: Show All Headers | Show Mailing List Information. In Outlook you right click on the message and go to: Properties > Details Logging to your site's control panel (cPanel) is explained in ›FAQ9 |
