To check if your email is working correctly send a message to yourself. Your email program will try to deliver an email to its destination - if this cannot be done, it will give up after a specified number of tries and return the email to you, marked 'undelverable'.

So, if email you sent is not returned after a day or so - it has, most likely, been delivered somewhere. Note that SENDING and RECEIVING email are two separate processes, handled by two separate programs: in principle, any server you have access to can be used for sending but only the server named in your email address after the '@' can be used for receiving (example: all mail to admin@NETCELLS.NET goes to the netcells.net server) - note that our support only extends to the Netcells servers (example: we will help you with the problems you may have with email to me@myname.com if myname.com is hosted on our server) we do not support other mail servers (hotmail.com, club-internet.com etc). Problems with your email are often due to your Email Client (that is the program you use to read and send your email) or your Internet Service Provider. To eliminate this possibility, log in to your site's control panel (this can be done from any computer) and access your email on the server (Mail>Manage/AddAccounts). Note that if you have a Domain Name and/or a site Hosting with us your email can be managed INDEPENDENTLY on the server, regardless of any problems you may have on your local computer (just like Yahoo or Hotmail). If you cannot solve your problems contact us through the >Support page. We do not troubleshoot individual email programs, of course, beyond helping you to set up your mail account. If you are getting an error, you may want to search the web for the error number, try also switching your Server Authentification on. Instructions on accessing your site's control panel (cPanel) are on: >Namecell.net/hosting/ (type your Domain name in the box). |
