That depends on the purpose of the site and your general attitude to technology, time, money, other people.

In any case, here are some universally applicable remarks, which will save you from very likely, possibly disastrous loss of time and money a few months or years down the line. • your website should use a database, so that there is no limit on the amount of the information you put in and manage. • you should have a direct access to that database, ideally also be able to export your data and take it with you in a universal format, if you decide to leave. • your site's content should be separate from your site's look, which can be designed by the Netcells team or anybody else for that matter and also changed whenever you like, without being locked into one designer's solutions. • your User Zone should be flexible, so that you can simply add your own specific functions to it, rather than search for another program or another provider. • your User Zone should be backed by a human design and development team you can communicate with, ready to step in, if and when your site outgrows your own ability, so that you will not have to start from 0. • you should be able not only to update your site but also integrate new technologies and applications, as they become available ( Facebook, Twitter, Wordpress and others ) - in practice, this is only achieveable as a member of an active network. For your information, Netcells system meets all of the points above, but, just in case you were tempted to add a bullet point of your own: "and my web site should cost nothing or next to nothing" let us tell you that Netcells provides a facility where such unreasonable demand can apparently be satisfied - it is called ›1Cell.net - go and try it - you will soon know whether or not the Netcells system is for you... |
