in cPanel in Files you have 3 tools for back up - Backup, Backup Wizard and File Restoration. you can keep your back up on the server or you can download it to your local machine. Backups are compressed in .tar format, you need special software to open it (available freely) or just keep it safe, in case of trouble. you can also back up by connecting to your site via SFTP and copying all files to your local computer, although this is a much slower process, note that all your Netcells User Zone data are backed up about once a week so you do not need to worry about losing that information. accessing your Control Panel (cPanel) is explained in ›FAQ#9. remember, as long a you own your domain name you have complete control (and responsibility) over your site. you can restore it from your Backup and re-activate it on any server you want in matter of hours. access to your domain name settings is normally via NetCells but we can set up a direct access for you if that's what you want. |
