Although we may initially help you set up your local computer or mobile phone to connection to our mail server - in principle, our Support does not, can not extend to problems you might be having with your devices or the local software you use to handle email (the so called mail client).

Malfunction of email software is not rare and it is not unlikely that, in the long run, you will lose all your mail, especially if it is not backed up - think about it - do you still have the emails sent 2-3 years ago ? If you value your mail use server-based mail programs included with your hosting (Horde, Squirrel or RoundCube) - those programs are supported by Netcells and despite occasional problems no User mail was ever lost on our server (note: this is not a guarantee that your mail will never be lost - nobody will give you that - back up and keep copies). If you are having problems with your local email software, the first thing to do is to close it, and log in to your site's Control Panel (cPanel) to deal with the mail on the server, using one of the programs mentioned above - if you get stuck, contact us. Then, you should troubleshoot your local mail application in the usual manner - check your connection settings, search the web for remedies, check user forums, contact the vendor, re-install, try different software etc. If you really must use local software and cannot resolve your problems we recommend ›Thunderbird - the very good free application for mail, news and chat from the international developer community - it is dead easy to install and works great, more info on ›Wikipedia. Note that if you use your email via local application and POP account you need to deal with the associated side effects, for example, the messages on the server will disappear once they get downloaded to your local machine unless your local mail client is set to leave a copy on server, or, the messages downloaded and then deleted will not be deleted from the server - your email will bloat until all disk space is used and it will stop functioning, see ›FAQ180... |
