Netcells runs a secure dedicated server. We defend your data as we defend our own data. We know every site on the server and continually monitor the data traffic. Connections (IP addresses) that pose a potential threat or overload the server resources get automatically blocked by the server's defenses, first temporarily, then permanently, you would have to contact us to remove such a block.

Those server measures do NOT affect your website's availability to visitors from other locations. It is therefore easy to check whether or not you are blocked - just try to access the server from a different IP address - for example, your mobile phone or a computer in a different location. Your phone will generally obtain a different IP on restart or after recovering from flight mode. A common cause of block is you or your email program (SMTP) trying to connect to your email with a wrong password. Check your password and make sure all your email accounts have the correct password set. Deactivate or delete mail accounts no longer used on all your devices. Your email program must not be set to access email too frequently, for example 3 times a minute or 5 times an hour. You might have to reset passwords ›more info. You might also get blocked when visiting one of the "not allowed" countries (there are many - contact us to find out) - connecting via your mobile phone can resolve that. Another (rare) cause of a block is one of your applications making connection to the server which are seen as suspicious - this has to be resolved on case by case basis. If you are blocked - that is - you can not access your email, your web site on our server, or netcells.net site: 1. try to change your IP address by restarting the device used to connect to the Internet - your router, your phone, your phone acting as a router (hotspot). 2. if you still can not connect, find out your IP address - from sites like: wizcase.com/tools/whats-my-ip then contact us via email (which is not on our server), SMS or phone. Last but not least: the safest and easiest way of using your email (for you and/or anyone working for you) is directly on your mail server via Webmail. This is because you will immediately know if your password is wrong and you are not downloading malware to your local devices - explained in ›FAQ#32 |
